Wednesday Junior League

There is no entry fee for the first round. A small charge may apply for subsequent rounds to cover some of the cost of small prizes for division winners.

Players will be assigned into divisions according to ability and each player will play everyone else in their division over two or three sessions. For the first session the matches will be best-of-three matches, and there will be no prizes except promotion (or relegation!) for the first round of the league.

After the first round the divisions will be re-assigned, there will be some promotions and relegations to get players into an appropriate division. More than one player may be relegated or promoted to get divisions of no more than six or seven players for subsequent rounds.
Some players may move by more than one division after the first round if it is obvious that they are playing at an unsuitable level.

We will try to play at least two or three matches for each player per week.

Players missing for two consecutive Wednesday sessions will be assumed to have lost all matches they should have played on a 0-2 scoreline. If players do not play in the League at all their matches will not be counted. Players who withdraw also give a walkover to their opponent. We cannot delay the entire league for players who are absent.
