Munster Schools League

Beech Hill Table Tennis Club in Cork was the venue for the first day of the Munster Schools League for the 2012-13 season. There were almost forty teams from Cork and Kerry representing their schools, playing in ten divisions.

Tim McMahon brought a dozen of the top Junior players from CBS The Green to contest in the tournament, the first time the school has sent teams. (Click here). The high standard of table tennis in Tralee was demonstrated by the fact that all of the Tralee teams were in the upper divisions, with teams in the Premier Division, First, Second, and Fourth divisions. They were all up to the standard of their assigned divisions, with Keith Madden deputising for the absent Michael Creagh in the "Tralee A" team and Ronan Duggan ably filling in for Danny O'Reilly in the "D" squad.

Teams:
"Tralee A" (Premier Division)
Alan Hobbart, Stephen Browne and Keith Madden

"Tralee B" (First Division)
Darren Chester, Adam Buckley and Joe Slattery

"Tralee C" (Second Division)
Kevin Johnson-Horgan, Reece Sugrue (playing brilliantly on the day!) and Ronan Magee

"Tralee D" (Fourth Division)
Fiachra Ryan-Browne, Con Gill and Ronan Duggan
Special congratulations to Con Gill who continues his run of form after the Killarney Open with six wins from six matches!

After the first half of the competition (the other half will be played in Leeside Table Tennis Club March), several of the teams are in contention in their divisions.

Full results for each division:
Prem     Div 1     Div 2     Div 3     Div 4
Div 5     Div 6     Div 7     Div 8     Div 9
All divisions in one file

Thanks to Rory O'Connor and Ben Haughton for hosting and organising a great day of table tennis, with each player getting six competitive matches.
